Ropes and Wires ran for it’s 6th year at Box End Park on Saturday the 4th October 2014, and once again this unique competition formula brought out some fantastic riding.

Riders worked together in teams of 4 to score as many points as possible across the boat and cable lakes, with the most cumulative team points at the end of the day producing the winners.

With 15 minutes to rack up as many unique tricks as possible on the cable, riders didn’t hold back. No maximum number of falls allowed competitors to run back to the dock and start again, bringing a number of riders cardiovascular fitness into question......

Most riders played it save during the first few laps, racking up their safe point, and then let rip in the final parts of their run, all very exciting to watch.

The action ran side by side on the boat lake, with lots of cable regulars getting stuck in behind the X-Star. With boat points carrying a higher weighting this year everyone was keen to make their boat runs count.

It was great to see riders who had been competing against each other all year, now riding together in a team and the overall atmosphere on the day was fantastic.

With teams rather than individuals making it onto the podium, there was a massive 60 podium places awarded, with a huge pot of prizes up for grabs !!!!!!

Full results can be found here.

A massive thanks goes to all riders, spectators and judges who helped make the day a success and to the sponsors who supported the event. See you all again next year!
